I provide individual psychotherapy, specializing in anxiety, depression, trauma, Veteran and military issues, and stage of life transitions. I also have experience treating problems related to alcohol and substance use utilizing harm reduction methods. My background and training are in evidenced based cognitive behavioral modalities, but I generally take a collaborative, eclectic approach to psychotherapy, always starting with a strong therapeutic relationship. I believe clients are experts on themselves and use therapy to help to draw out that innate knowledge and insight.
I am most passionate about working with survivors of interpersonal trauma. The effects of trauma are far reaching and can make day-to-day living feel impossible or exhausting. I enjoy working with survivors to build safety, increase skills, and make new meaning of the trauma in a healthy way.
I grew up in a military family where I moved around every few years, and have a unique understanding of military and Veteran issues, as well as the difficulties that come with life transitions. I am solution focused in my work, and eager to help clients reach their goals.
